after my last
entry, i feel like an
oxymoron posting this.
"feel"....no "I am" an
oxymoron.

call me out.

but in my defense,
this is time sensitive

if the design world
isn't inundated with success stories,
it's about cool apartments, "it girls"
and street style fashions.

how lame we
are to constantly talk
about our possessions.
our aesthetic.

so what.
who cares.

it's simply
decoration.

we need more stories
that share those great moments
of inspiration, vulnerability
rejection and doubt.

i find that part of
the creative process
the most genius.

authentic
fragile.

far more
illustrative than
the material things we
surround ourselves with

i saw unzipped
when i was 10 and
it exposed me to
the reality of
a dreamer

and it made
me want design
and new york
even more.

love is
not without
vulnerability

isaac mizarhiis is proof
that great artists are not always
riding high in april

but with a dream
and a grand imagination
you'll always find a way to
get back in the race.

working in the creative
field can be so demanding
for design is quite personal
...an extension of yourself.

for me,
it's hard to separate
work from life

the blurring of
the lines is beautiful

be quite taxing

genius child

This is a song for the genius child.
Sing it softly, for the song is wild.
Sing it softly as ever you can -
Lest the song get out of hand.

Nobody loves a genius child.

Can you love an eagle,
Tame or wild?
Can you love an eagle,
Wild or tame?
Can you love a monster
Of frightening name?

Nobody loves a genius child.

Kill him - and let his soul run wild.

Langston Hughes
